The history of the Gonnelli family dates back to 1585, when the brothers Francesco, Lorenzo and Giulio, sons of Taddeo di Michele di Lorenzo, purchased the Podere di Santa Téa. Since then, the members of the family – brothers, sons and grandsons – who grew up in the Frantoio di Santa Téa, a monument of industriousness yesterday and today – have handed down a true art, with all the knowledge, wisdom and skill in the cultivation of olives and the art of oil-making, preserving the techniques and secrets of the trade for the production of the best oil. An art that derives from the best tradition of the ancient oil mill, which is preciously preserved in the museum area, and from continuous experimentation in the search for innovation, both in production and cultivation.
